God's gift to Humans

Nutella
®, in its original form, was first created in the 1940s by Mr. Pietro Ferrero, a pastry maker and founder of the Ferrero company. At the time, cocoa was in short supply because of rationing due to World War II, so chocolate was very limited. So Mr. Ferrero used hazelnuts, which are plentiful in the Piedmont region of Italy (northwest), to extend the chocolate supply.

Google Phone...Coming Soon

The specifications Google has laid out for devices suggest that manufacturers include cameras for photo and video, and built-in Wi-Fi technology to access the Web at hot spots such as airports, coffee shops and hotels. It also is recommending that gPhones be designed to work on carriers’ fastest networks, known as 3G, to ensure that Web pages can be downloaded quickly. Google suggests the phones could include Global Positioning System technology that identifies where people are.

People who have seen Google’s prototype gPhones say they aren’t as revolutionary as the iPhone. One was likened to a slim Nokia Corp. phone with a keyboard that slides out. Another phone format presented by Google looked more like a Treo or a BlackBerry. It’s not clear which manufacturers might build the Google Phone, though people familiar with the project say LG Electronics Co. of South Korea is one company that has held talks with Google. Google has already lined up a series of hardware component and software partners and signaled to carriers that it’s open to various degrees of cooperation on their part, the people say.

"Quote of the Day"

"What's in a name? Does the labels we attach to people tell us everything we need to know? if we say she's just a child does this mean she's truly innocent? does calling her a drug dealer prove she's purely evil? will a man known as preacher always practice what he preaches? Can a man branded a villain possess the qualities of a hero? The truth is a name can never tell you really who someone is... Anymore it can tell you what they're capable off!!"

3 WAYS TO BEAT YOUR BAD HABITS

#1) WEAR A RUBBERBAND

when you feel a craving coming on, snap your wrist three times quickly. Scientists and torturers call this negative reinforcement: Craving equals pain. It's akin to smacking yourself on the nose with a newspaper.

#2) POUR YOURSELF A GLASS OF CURE

When it comes to nervous habits, water is your secret weapon. When you feel a craving coming on, chug at least 10 ounces. It's amazing how well this works.

#3) SWITCH SIDES OF THE BED

If you're a consistent habit former, you should overhaul your routines- what time you wake up, what you eat for breakfast, what route you take to work, and so on- every 3 months.

"Quote of the Day"

"If you have health, you probably will be happy, and if you have health and happiness, you have all the wealth you need, even if it is not all you want."

Pets & Associated Diseases

#1. CATS

Sidestep it: The parasite becomes infectious after 24 hours, so scoop the litter box at least once every day.

#2. DOGS

Symptoms: Diarrhea, coughing, wheezing
Sidestep it: Don't go barefoot in your yard; it has millions of roundworms after 7 days o not scooping poop.

#3. BIRDS
Illness: Psittacosis
Symptoms: Headaches
Sidestep it: Before you clean the cage, wet the papers at the bottom with Lysol to avoid inhaling infected dust.

#4. LIZARDS
Illness: Salmonella infection
Symptoms: Stomach pain, diarrhea, bleeding ulvers
Sidestep it: your cold-blooded buddy as probably steeped in his stool Wear gloves when touching him.

#5. FISH
Illness: Granuloma
Symptoms: Painful skin ulcers
Sidestep it: The fish aren't dangerous, but the aquarium can be. Wear gloves when you reach into the tank.

Cheat Meals and Negative Calories

For all of you who diet out there you know exactly what I am talking about; that cheat meal or in our Kuwaiti society way that "cheat day." Anyways, the question that follows is

Q: DOES IT MATTER WHICH DAY I PICK FOR A CHEAT MEAL?

A: If you're going to cheat, do so after a workout, when the meal stands a better chance of being absorbed by your muscles (good) instead of becoming stored in fat tissue (bad). Even after a low-intensity training session, your muscles can sponge up large amount of carbs, preventing fat storage.

Q: I'VE HEARD THAT CERTAIN FOODS REQUIRE MORE CALORIES TO DIGEST THAN THEY CONTAIN. IS THIS TRUE?

A: Nope. The "negative calorie" concept is a myth. Even celery, which is often cited as a negative calorie food, has 18 calories in two stalks, half from sugar and half from fiber. Your body does burn calories to digest the food, but the total cost doesn't exceed the caloric yield

"Quote of the Day"

"When you remember me, it means that you have carried something of who I am with you, that I have left some mark of who I am on who you are. It means that you can summon me back to your mind even though countless years and miles may stand between us. It means that if we meet again, you will know me. It means that even after I die, you can still see my face and hear my voice and speak to me in your heart."

Very Interesting Conversation

Something I overheard at Starbucks (not in Kuwait)

*married couple, well maybe.. or they just have a daughter in common*

Women: "Are you chewing gum?"

Man: "Yes, I am"

Women: "You don't chew gum... spit it out!!" *serious face*

*While the women raised her hand in front of his mouth waiting for him to spit out the gum she looks around and REALIZED my *shocked* face starring at them, unintentionally, while I was adding sugar to my coffee*

Women: "I'm just kidding... you didn't tell me you chewed gum"

Me: "Well, it's not something people bring up in a conversation... oh yeah, btw I chew gum" *in my mind*
